GPI’s Like Box

Project

An agency from Georgia asked us if we could build a BTL box that thanked people who liked their Facebook page. We had the idea to build a real like sign (the Facebook like hand) that would light up every time a user liked their page. The hand was inside a transparent case that LED displays on top. These were used to show the profile picture of the user, and thank them for liking the page. Everything was live streamed so users could see their profile picture appear in the box.

What we’ve built

We started the project by building the software infrastructure required to see who’s liking the page. Then we built the Facebook app, the like hand that lit up (again using Raspberry Pi) and the stand. The whole project was then mailed to the agency in Georgia.
